Sony expands 4KTV line-up

Sony is expanding its range of BRAVIA 4K LED TVs that incorporates the same Sony technologies to deliver superior picture quality with a redefined sound system for a richer and wider range of sound than previously made possible. With four times the resolution of Full HD, and at extremely accessible price-points of AED21,999 and AED14,999 for the 65-inch and 55-inch respectively, the new X85 series will be a welcome addition to any homeowner looking for the penultimate home entertainment experience.

The new BRAVIA X85 series of 4K TVs feature the same display technologies found in the X90 series, resulting in outstanding picture quality with ultra-fine 4K detail and rich colours- the exception being the X85 series adoption of Active 3D technology. Its 4K X-Reality Pro picture engine ensures that all content, regardless of its source, is optimised for ultra-high definition viewing.

Using a special 4K database and processing algorithm, the BRAVIA X85 is able to upscale 2K content to near native 4K resolution, while reducing visual noise and correcting image shapes. The 4K LED TV X85 series, as well as the 65-inch and 55-inch X90[2] series, which are currently available, will gain the ability to support HDMI Specification Version 2.0 to accommodate 4K/60p[3] content via an internet firmware upgrade from the end of 2013.

The TRILUMINOS Display allows for more stunning, more vivid, true-to-life reproduction of colour on screen and creates a heightened sense of depth. This wider colour gamut enriches and improves picture quality of personal content captured using Sony digital cameras and camcorders that are compatible with TRILUMINOS Color.

What makes the X85 series of BRAVIA 4K TVs stand out is its integrated bass reflex box speaker with a tweeter and an assist woofer that produces crystal clear highs and deep bass. With three driver units, excellent picture quality is matched by extremely powerful and moving sound for an immersive viewing experience.

For users looking for ways to connect their devices to their TVs without the hassle of connecting cables, the X85 series is Wi-Fi enabled, and comes with an array of features to enhance cross-device connectivity between the TV and the users’ mobile devices. “Smart Connect” is a feature that pairs devices seamlessly to the TV, while “One-touch mirroring” enables users to establish a wireless connection with the TV simply by touching their NFC capable phone with the supplied One-touch Remote Control. Furthermore, the “TV SideView” app will allow users to use their smartphones or tablets as a second screen to extend their enjoyment of the content showing on the TV.

The new BRAVIA X85 series 4K LED TVs from Sony are currently available at all leading electronics’ stores in the UAE.
