Review: Fondi Fast Charging Power Pads

Mobility products have become an essential part of our lives. However, it takes a lot of power to light up all the mobility devices we carry around. Whether you’re exploring the great outdoors or enduring a power outage, a portable charging device, can come in handy when electrical outlets are either unavailable or, as is often the case, not functioning. These portable battery packs can also charge your smartphones, media players, cameras, and other mobile gear that charge over USB.

External battery packs are currently available in pretty much every size and shape imaginable. There are quite a lot of brands that make these devices available on the market. One of those brands is Fondi, a brand of FondiVersal Technology. Review Central received the entire range of the company’s “Power Pads” for review. We have tried to condense the performance and features of all the products into this review.

The company’s range of Fondi power pads include Portable Series, Super Charger Series, Razor Pad Series, Super Razor Series, and Apple Series. The input of the power pads range from Micro USB 5V/1A to Micro USB 5V/2.5A. The output of the power pads also range from UAB A Type 5V/1A one port to some with USB A Type 5V/1A and 5V/2.5A both.

The power rating of the series include 3.7V 2200mAh (8.14Wh), 3.7V 3000mAh (11.1Wh), 3.7V 5200mAh (19.24Wh), 3.7V 5200mAh (19.24Wh), 3.7V 8400mAh (31.08Wh), 3.7V 7000mAh (25.9Wh), and 3.7V 1500mAh (5.55Wh). The deigns also vary depdending on the series you choose to go with. The one we tested – the 8400mAh power pad with two outputs from the Super Charger Series – featured a rectangular design with good overall build quality.

Charging the power pad to its full capacity took about 4 hours. Once we were finished charging the device using the bundled Micro USB cable, the power pad was ready to power up and charge other mobility products. We were able to fully charge an Android smartphone and partially charge an Android-based tablet, before the power pad gave up the ghost. That’s a lot of juice from one full charge.
