Review: Skullcandy Grind Wireless

If there is a headphone brand that has seriously improved over the years, it is Skullcandy. There was a time when Skullcandy was synonymous to fragile, cheap and average. However, times have changes and so has Skullcandy. It is a brand that offers products that look absolutely stunning, sound great and don’t murder the bank balance.

The Skullcandy Grind is one of the headphones that define the new and significantly improved Skullcandy. The Grind is a headphone that sound quite decent, looks stellar and is extremely. The new wireless version of the Grind packs the same quality and looks along with the feature of wireless music playback via Bluetooth.

The wireless does cost a little more, but even the new price is quite affordable. The Skullcandy Grind Wireless is available in many different colours. You can choose the one that you find the best. Because of so much colour choice, talking about the design in a concrete manner is a difficult task.

However, the basic aesthetics are same in every variant. The leather covering of the headband houses soft foam underneath. The foam is held in place by a mesh layer which is provided on top of the foam. It has to be said that the Skullcandy Grind Wireless are one of the most comfortable mid-budget headphones available in the market.

The extremely soft ear pads and the foam underneath the headband make wearing the Skullcandy Grind Wireless an absolute joy! A whole bunch of buttons is not provided on the either cans. Instead, the button configuration is minimalistic has contains a power button and two volume controls.

The volume controls also double up as the next and previous buttons. Holding the volume up button for 3 seconds will play the next track in the list and holding the volume down button for the same amount of time will do the opposite. Bluetooth is also controlled by the main power button. The Skullcandy Grind Wireless also has a 3.55mm audio jack that enables battery free wired playback.

Considering the price of the Skullcandy Grind Wireless, a wise man would not expect something extraordinary. However, it is good to be unwise with these headphones. The compact size and superb comfort level are not everything you get with these headphones.

The sound quality is surprisingly awesome. Low bass notes are handled well than premium Beats headphones that cost twice as much. Even miss and highs are handled in a very impressive manner. Every genre from country to metal is handled excellently.

However, the overall sound quality is obviously inferior to premium quality headphones that cost ad much as a new 32-inch TV! But, it is not a thing to whine about as the Skullcandy Grind Wireless offers a lot more than what you pay for. No case for carrying the headphones is provided in the box.

In terms of battery life, these headphones are not perfect, but quite good nonetheless. Skullcandy promises 15 hours of music playback. The actual battery life is a little less, but the variation is not very much. Well, just buy them! The Skullcandy Grind Wireless are the best cans in the mid-budget segment.
