Touted as the world’s smallest all-in-one printer for the home, the HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 3785 comes in a very small package. The all-in-one printer measures just 40.3-by-45.1-by-26.4cm in dimension and weighs around 2.3-kgs. Inside the box, the printer comes with a power cable and adapter, a USB cable for connecting to the computer, a CD for installing the drivers, two ink cartridges (one black and one colour) and some manuals and quick guides.
Setting up the printer is a walk in the park. All you do is install the drivers, connect the printer through the USB cable and the bundled software does the rest of the setup procedure. The HP 3785 Deskjet Ink Advantage all-in-one printer is designed to now only save desk real estate, but also money, since the Ink Advantage cartridges are supposed to offer more prints for lesser cost per page.
The overall design of the 3785 is sleek and the build quality is quite good. Apart from USB connectivity, the 3785 supports Wi-Fi connectivity. This means it supports HP’s All-in-One Printer Remote mobile application for Android, iOS and Windows devices. With this app, you will be able to wirelessly print material from your tablet or smartphone with ease without involving your PC.
Even if you are not connected to your home Wi-Fi network, Wi-Fi Direct makes it possible for you to share content directly. Along with that you get the HP Social Media Snapshots application through which you can print content from social networking websites such as Facebook and Instagram.
On paper, HP claims the 3785 can deliver up to 19 pages per minute when printing in black and white and 15 pages per minute when you are printing in colour. We were able to clock around 16 pages in black and white and 11 pages in colour. Copy speed is 4ppm for black and white and 2.5ppm for colour. Scanning resolution is up to 600-by-600 pixels per inch (ppi) optical and 24-bit colour, 8-bit gray scale.
