Oppo A72 5G is officially launched, features a 6.5” 90 Hz display

Oppo A72 5G

Oppo has officially unveiled a new version of its Oppo A72 smartphone that features high-speed 5G capabilities, along with new specifications as compared to the previous Oppo A72 4G.

The new Oppo A72 5G comes with the new Dimensity 720 processor with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage space. On the contrary, the Oppo A72 4G packs the Snapdragon 665 processor. The smartphone runs on Android 10  OS based on the ColorOS 7.2 user interface. While both the devices feature a 6.5-inch Full HD+ LCD screen, the 5G variant does feature a 90Hz refresh rate for its display as compared to the standard 60Hz of the 4G model.

One major difference between the two variants is seen on the cameras. The Oppo A72 5G comes with three main cameras in its rear that includes a 16MP primary shooter, an 8MP sensor for wide-angle shots and a 2MP depth sensor, along with an 8MP selfie snapper on the front portion. On the contrary, the 4G model does have the upper hand that features a total of 4 cameras in its rear side, that includes a 48MP main shooter, an 8MP sensor for ultrawide snaps, a 2MP sensor for macro photography and 2MP depth sensor, along with a 16MP selfie sensor.

Unfortunately, the 5G variant of the Oppo A72 gets a downgrade in the battery department, with a capacity of 4040 mAh with the capability of USB Type-C 18W charge, while the 4G model packs a 5000 mAh battery. It’s certainly an odd decision to include a smaller battery when 5G capabilities are included along with a faster refresh rate for the display. Other features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, Dirac 3.0 sound, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The Oppo A72 5G is expected to be priced at $270 (approx.. 991 AED).
