Vivo has officially announced the S7 5G smartphone that packs the latest mid-range Snapdragon processors, along with high-megapixel cameras in its front and rear sides.

The new smartphone features a large 6.44-inch AMOLED screen and shines a screen resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels with a 20:9 aspect ratio. The display features HDR and 98.5% NTSC colour gamut coverage. However, the refresh rate is a modest 60 Hz. That said, the fingerprint scanner is integrated within the display itself. The screen also has a notch-type dual front-facing cameras, with one boasting a large 44MP selfie snapper, along with an aperture of F2.0 that is capable of recording 4K videos at 60fps. The second camera has a lens that covers the 105-degree field of view as a wide-angle 8MP selfie shooter. It’s impressive that a front camera can capture 4K at 60fps.

The main camera modules on the rear side come with three image sensors, one of which is a 64MP shooter with support for electronic video stabilization and with Super Night modes which performs well in low-light situations and noise reduction capability. Vivo claims that the smartphone can record videos from both the front and rear cameras at the same time in split-screen mode. (Reminds us of the Nokia Dual-Sight mode, or simply known as Bothie). The second camera is an 8MP camera for ultra-wide shots that doubles as a macro camera. The third camera is actually a 2MP depth sensor.

As for performance, the vivo S7 5G packs the Snapdragon 765G chipset, along with 8GB LPDDRX dual-channel RAM and a storage capacity of 128GB UFS 2.1 memory. There is also a 256GB option. However, both the models have no support for MicroSD card expansion. The smartphone comes with a large 4000 mAh battery, along with support for 33W flash charge with the bundled 11V charger. It should be noted that this smartphone doesn’t have a 3.5mm audio jack and music lovers will need to use a USB Type-C based headset.

Along with the support for 5G connectivity, the smartphone also supports dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1 with aptX HD/LDAC and NFC. The vivo S7 5G comes in three different colours that include Monet, which is a mix of blue and purple colours. The smartphone weighs 170g and is 7.39mm thick. The vivo S7 5G will cost about 400 dollars (approx.. 1469 AED) for the 128GB model and the 256GB model for 444 dollars (approx.. 1631 AED).
