Huawei Y7a officially announced, features 48MP camera, 5000 mAh battery, and Kirin 710A SoC

Huawei has officially unveiled the latest mid-range smartphone of its Y-series lineup, called the Y7a. The new smartphone comes with a large IPS display, high-capacity battery, and the Kirin 710A SoC under its hood.

The new Huawei Y7a comes with a 6.67-inch IPS display that features a screen resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. While the display comes with an aspect ratio of 20:9, the screen has a punch-hole camera cutout located on the top-middle portion. The selfie camera houses an 8MP camera with F2.0 as its aperture. It should be noted that while the Huawei Y9a smartphone has a motorized pop-up selfie camera, the company decided to stick to the traditional punch-hole design for the Y7a smartphone. That said, the new smartphone’s display has a brightness of 395ppi.

Coming to the specifications of the chipset, the device is powered by the Kirin 710A processor, an octa-core chip that consists of four Cortex A73 cores clocked at 2GHz speeds, along with four Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.7GHz. The smartphone comes in 64GB and 128GB storage options. Both the storage variants come with 4GB RAM and a microSD card slot for expandable storage. And while the device runs on Android 10 above the EMUI 10.1 skin, there are no Google Play applications integrated within the operating system.

The main camera module on the rear side packs four image sensors. The main camera houses a 48MP image sensor with F1.8 as its aperture. The 8MP image sensor comes with an F2.4 aperture lens for ultra-wide shots. The third camera placed here consists of a 2MP image sensor with F2.4 as its aperture and is used for macro photos. There is another 2MP depth-sensing camera with an aperture of F2.4. The main camera is capable of 4K video recording but only at 30fps.

The Huawei Y7a also features a 3.5mm audio jack, along with WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1, and USB Type-C port. However, the smartphone does not come with NFC functionality. The smartphone packs a large 5000 mAh battery with support for 22.5W fast charge capability. The new device also features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The new Huawei Y7a comes in Midnight Black, Crush Green, and Blush Gold colors. Local pricing and availability have yet to be officially confirmed.
