Samsung has officially unveiled its latest range of mid-range A-series smartphones as a part of the 2021 line-up. The new devices include the Galaxy A12 and the Galaxy A02s smartphones.
The new Samsung Galaxy A12 is the successor of the Galaxy A11 that was unveiled back in March. The new smartphone comes with a large 6.5-inch Infinity-V display with HD+ screen resolution. The display has a water-drop like notch that houses an 8MP selfie camera. Speaking of cameras, the new Galaxy A12 brings new changes to the camera and battery specifications. The new Galaxy A12 features a 48MP camera as the primary shooter, another 5MP camera for ultrawide shots, and another 2MP camera for macro shots. On the contrary, the previous Galaxy A11 features a 13MP camera as the primary, the same 5MP ultrawide shooter, and 2MP depth sensors. So, this is considered as a big change. The Galaxy A12 now features a larger 5000 mAh battery. On the contrary, the previous Galaxy A11 comes with a 4000 mAh battery.
The Galaxy A12 is powered by an octa-core processor that is clocked at 2.3GHz for its performance cores and 1.8GHz clock speed for the power-efficient cores. It’s still not evident which SoC is used but reports indicate that the smartphone may be using the MediaTek Helio P35 chipset. The Galaxy A12 will come with 3GB, 4GB, and 6GB RAM options. You also get to choose between 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB storage variants. The Galaxy A12 also features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The Samsung Galaxy A12 comes in White, Black, Blue, and Red colors.
The Samsung Galaxy A02s is the successor of the previous Galaxy A01 that was announced last year. The Galaxy A02s also comes with a 6.5-inch Infinity-V display with HD+ screen resolution. The chipset isn’t confirmed yet but there seems to be an indication that the A02s is powered by the Snapdragon 450 processor. The device also comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal memory. There is also a MicroSD card slot that lets you expand up to 1TB of storage space. The device also comes with a triple-camera configuration. The primary camera features a 13MP shooter, along with a modest 2MP camera for macro photography and another 2MP camera as the depth sensor. The A02s also comes with a water-drop notch that houses a 5MP selfie snapper.
The A02s also packs a large 5000 mAh battery with 15W of fast charge support. The previous Galaxy A01 came with a smaller 3000 mAh battery. The new Galaxy A02s will come in black and white colors. We have yet to receive the official local launch and pricing of the new Galaxy A12 and the Galaxy A02s.
