Announced back at CES 2020, ASUS has finally unveiled some new information about its latest 32-inch 4K gaming monitor and is prepared to release the ASUS ROG Swift PG32UQX gaming monitor soon. The new information was revealed through a Chinese retailer Taobao, unveiling the technical aspects of the display.
With the latest and upcoming graphics cards and game consoles focusing on 4K gaming, it’s obvious that gamers would lookout for the best 4K gaming monitors at the highest refresh rates. The new ASUS ROG Swift PG32UQX features a 32-inch screen with an IPS display panel that supports a refresh rate of 144Hz. The monitor brings support for NVIDIA G-Sync Ultimate vertical sync, along with Low Motion Blur Reduction (ULMB). While the monitor seems to be perfect for the upcoming Sony PlayStation 5 and Microsoft Xbox Series X, there needs to be an HDMI 2.1 port to experience the 4K@120Hz refresh rate gaming. Despite the marketing materials that claim the monitor does feature an HDMI 2.1 port, ASUS has confirmed otherwise that the new ASUS ROG Swift PG32UQX only has HDMI 2.0 port, which is not enough if you plan to play games at 4K 120Hz. If this turns out to be true, it’s a big disappointment for console owners.
That said, the monitor is confirmed to feature a Display Port 1.4 port. The ASUS ROG Swift PG32UQX has a 10-bit panel that features a contrast ratio of 1000:1, along with a gray-to-gray response time of 4ms. For enhanced gaming experience, the monitor also is certified with VESA DisplayHDR 1400, indicating that the peak brightness of the screen is 1400 nits for HDR gaming. ASUS also claims that the monitor comes with DCI-P3 color accuracy of over 90%. The panel also holds 1152 zones of Mini-LED blacklight. There is still more information that needs to be confirmed, although we hope that the monitor comes with an HDMI 2.1 port.
We still have yet to get the official confirmation and pricing of the new monitor for the UAE. However, the ASUS ROG Swift PG32UQX is expected to release in January 2021. There are conflicting reports regarding the pricing, where Taobao claims the monitor is priced at an insane 6400 dollars (Approx. 24,000 AED). However, Gizmochina claims the monitor is priced at 3599 dollars (Approx. 13,300 AED). It’s possible that there could be a pricing error, and ASUS has yet to confirm the actual pricing details.
