ASUS has officially announced its latest router called the RT-AX68U, featuring a vertical design and packs the latest Dual Band WiFi 6 that is compatible with many next-generation products.
The new router brings support for both 2.4GHz and 5 GHz radio bands that are compatible with almost all of the devices released in the market. The router features a maximum data transfer speed up to 2700Mbps when using WiFi 6. This kind of speed is better suited for downloading large files such as games, movies, and more. The inclusion of WIFI 6 (802.11ax) also brings a stable connection that suits online streamers and creators. WIFI 6 helps to increase the range and coverage for up to 80% as compared to older generations.
The ASUS RT-AX68U has a total of three different WIFI antennas and the vertical design of the device lets the antennas point fully upwards. The new vertical design of the router helps to take less space wherever you keep the device. The router also comes with some of ASUS technologies such as Ai Mesh that lets users develop a mesh network using other compatible ASUS routers. There is also the ASUS Ai Protection that adds a secure layer of filtering above the firewall of the router. The router offers further protection with commercial-grade network security with ASUS AiProtection Pro and WPA3 that is powered by Trend Micro. Users will also be able to manage the router for parental controls and the ASUS Router App lets consumers easily set up and manage the device.
ASUS has not yet officially stated the price of the router. However, the company is said to be targetting the RT-AX68U for the sub-100$ price category.
