It looks like NVIDIA plans to release more variants of the RTX 3060 series and the upcoming version comes with more graphics memory. A new exclusive leak from the folks at WCCFTech states that ASUS prepares to release the ASUS TUF GAMING GeForce RTX 3060 ULTRA custom GPU.
The RTX 3060 Ultra features specifications that are reportedly faster than the RTX 3060 Ti variants with larger memory and efficient cooling solutions. One of the key features is the inclusion of the 12GB GDDR6 that is way more than what the RTX 3060 Ti, the RTX 3070, and also the RTX 3080 GPU possesses. It’s obvious that ASUS will be releasing the new RTX 3060 Ultra under the ROG Strix and TUF series. The GPU itself features a 2.7 slot design, along with a large aluminum-based GPU shroud and three 0db fans for quiet operations.
The card also uses a large heatsink with a massive aluminum fin array, along with multiple copper heat pipes. The GPU used here is reportedly the GA104-250 die, featuring up to 3840 CUDA cores. On the contrary, the 3060 Ti has more number of CUDA cores up to 4864. However, the base clock speeds and the boost speeds of the GPU isn’t known for now and could feature a lower 192-bit memory bus.
The new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ultra custom cards are expected to be unveiled on the 12th of January at NVIDIA’s CES 2021 keynote.
