Samsung shifts its focus towards foldable smartphones for 2021, no Galaxy Note 21 for this year

While Samsung has been working on delivering a Note-like experience with the latest S-series smartphones, rumors have already been circulating that the company may be on the verge of ending the Note series smartphones. The company is also getting ready to introduce the first S-Pen for its foldable smartphone line-up.

Dr. TM Roh, the President and Head of Samsung Mobile Communications Business, has stated in a recent press release that the company is aiming to showcase its latest Galaxy Z series smartphones at the Galaxy Unpacked event, scheduled on August 11th, 2021. He also mentioned that the company is now focusing on delivering the premium features of Note devices for other Galaxy smartphones, instead of launching a new Galaxy Note smartphone.

“We are out to set new heights and open up a whole new world of exciting experiences for even more people. I hope you’ll join us as we debut our next Galaxy Z family and share some foldable surprises — including the first-ever S Pen designed specifically for foldable phones. Instead of unveiling a new Galaxy Note this time around, we will further broaden beloved Note features to more Samsung Galaxy devices. In the meantime, mark your calendars and tune in to our Unpacked event on August 11 to see what unfolds.”

This does confirm that we won’t be seeing a new Galaxy Note 21 for this year. However, it should be noted that Samsung did not specify if they really intend to entirely discontinue the release of the new Galaxy Note series for the coming years. Interestingly, there are several new reports that beloved loyalists of the Note series have raised a petition to continue releasing new Note series smartphones.
