During the CES 2022 conference, NVIDIA has unveiled its most powerful graphics card called the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti, featuring a full-width Ampere GA102 SKU, 24GB memory, and more.
The new GPU is in a league of its own and the GPU chip is based on Samsung’s 8nm fab process. The chip features a total of 28 billion transistors and measures about 628mm2. The new Ampere architecture-based graphics card offers performance that is 2.7 times performance, 1.7 times faster RT core performance, and 2.7 times faster Tensor core performance than the previous Turing GPUs.
The RTX 3090 Ti packs about 10752 CUDA cores with its base clock set at 1560 MHz and boosts clocks up to 1860 MHz. The GPU produces a compute performance of 40 TFLOPs of FP32 functionality. The memory is 24GB GDDR6X with a 384-bit memory bus and 21 GBps memory speed. The total bandwidth reaches a staggering 1008GB/s.
All that said, the RTX 3090 Ti is a massive TDP of 450W. And the price of the GPU is set at 1499 dollars. Although, GPU manufacturers are surely going to ramp up the prices, and with the shortage of graphics cards, the prices will be expensive.
NVIDIA also unveiled three more GPU models that include the 12GB variant of the RTX 3080, the RTX 3070 Ti with 16GB memory, and RTX 3050 with 8GB memory. The RTX 3080 12GB features 8960 CUDA cores, 19 Gbps memory speed, and 760 GB/s bandwidth. The TDP of the card is 320W. The RTX 3070 Ti with 16GB memory features a 256-bit memory bus, 21 Gbps memory speed, 672GB/s bandwidth, and has a TDP of 290W. The smaller RTX 3050 graphics card features 20 SM units, 2560 CUDA cores, 8GB GDDR6, 128-bit bus, and 224GB/s bandwidth. The TDP of the GPU is only 130W.
