Review: BenQ GW2785TC 27-inch FHD 1080p Monitor with Eye-Care

BenQ not only makes some of the best professional and gaming monitors but also offers affordable options that suit the everyday user for home and office use. We take a look at the BenQ GW2785TC 27-inch FHD 1080p monitor with Eye-Care technology.

The new BenQ GW2785TC is perfectly suited for those who are on a budget and would still love to work from home and for your children’s online education. Despite the pandemic situation that has improved greatly as compared to previous years, many still favor the concept of “work from home”. The monitor’s 27-inch IPS display offers a screen resolution of 1920×1080 and the brightness goes up to 250 nits, which is both safe and comfortable to view.

The native contrast of the monitor is 1000:1, which provides sufficient blacks and fewer light bleeds. This is useful if you are watching a movie or while a programmer works on his programming on a black background. The screen also has a response time of 5ms and the refresh rate is 75Hz, which is a tad bit faster than the standard 60Hz monitors. The screen is capable of handling over 16.7 million colors, along with 72% NTSC color gamut coverage. The display also has an anti-glare coating to minimize all those reflections that can distract your work.

The main feature of the display is BenQ’s eye-care technologies that help to protect your eyes while you use the monitor for longer sessions. Among the technologies is the Flicker-Free Eye Protection with TÜV Rheinland which helps to reduce the flickers of the screen, and as a result, reduces the pressure on your eyes as well as eye fatigue from looking at a screen. Then comes the Low Blue Light Technology modes that you can choose based on each level. The Brightness Intelligence Plus Technology automatically adjusts the brightness based on the surrounding lighting.

The monitor also offers several connectivity options such as one HDMI (v1.4) port, two DisplayPort (v1.2) ports for in and out (MST), one USB-C port with support for 60W power delivery, data transfer, and DisplayPort Alt Mode, a headphone jack.

The monitor also features dual 2W speakers that sound great when you use it to watch movies or while attending an online meeting. The device also comes with a digital microphone with noise-cancellation functionality so your voice is the only thing that is heard by others during an online meeting. The GW2785TC is designed to tilt up and down between -5˚ – 20˚, swivel left and right between 45˚/ 45˚, and pivot at 90 degrees. The device also can have a maximum height of 130mm.

The BenQ GW2785TC monitor is a good choice for those who work from home and your kid who wants to do online education, watch video content, and more. The design is ergonomic and allows you to adjust positions by tilting, swiveling, and height adjustments. The 27-inch IPS screen offers FHD resolution and a 75Hz refresh rate. Eye-care technologies such as the Flicker-Free Eye Protection and Low Blue Light Technology reduce the chances of eye fatigue and protect your eyes when using the monitor for longer durations. The device also has enough ports for multiple device connections, that includes HDMI, DisplayPort, and USB-C connections.
