Connections – and more connections; that’s what Computex Taipei seems to be all about. For five days, the organisers of one of the largest ICT events in the world hope, the event will shape the future by connecting ICT with its tech, industry, market, and media. This is where the trends blossom in smart tech, touch applications, wearable tech, mobile computing and cloud tech and services.
The show takes place in four expo halls that are packed with 1,710 exhibitors using 5,069 booths. The world’s second largest IC design company for mobile devices, Mediatek, is exhibiting for the first time. Joining that line up are top makers like Acer, ASUS, Delta and Transcend along with AMD, FORD, Intel, Microsoft, Panasonic and Supermicro. And with them opens a world of wonders in such foreign concessions like the USA Pavilion, Korean Pavilion, Hong Kong Pavilion and Israeli Pavilion.
This year’s visitors will be treated to new theme areas such as “Touch Applications & Display Products Area” and “Smart Tech & Applications Area”. This expo makes IT happen by joining more than 130,000 visitors from 170 countries. Many of them are big names like SIEMENS AG, Hisense, Toshiba, MA Laboratories, and Best Buy –a leading US consumer electronics retailer.
TAITRA, being the major force behind the world’s best ICT procurement hub, arranged more than 1000 1-on-1 procurement meetings during the show. And in addition to these meetings, for the first time this year, procurement meetings on the telecom industry for emerging markets and government procurement meetings are also pre-arranged to take place during the show.
More than 40 new product announcements and press conferences will be held before and during the show. Acer will focus on its “Build your own cloud” service while ASUS will announce “incredible” tablets as well as mobile phones. Intel’s new President, Renee James, will be giving keynote speech as well as announcing new product.
Every heart and mind in ICT will be at the Summit Forum to map the future. All eyes will be on Simon Segars, CEO of ARM, M.K. Tsai, CEO of MediaTek and Stan Shih, founder & president of Acer, Shane Owenby, Managing Director, Asia Paci¬fic, Amazon Web Services who share rare insiders on the convergence of social interacting tech, mobility, cloud, and the shape of things to come. And Industry Forums open rare moments to connect with top executives from Amazon Web Service, Cisco, Broadcom, IDC, NXP, STMicroelectronics, and Salesforce as they spotlight hot topics like big data, internet of things and much more!
In their 7th year, Computex Taipei design & innovation awards, have become a key event for Computex Taipei. This year, a total of 74 winning products are being awarded from 288 product entries. Award winners include Qualcomm, Sandisk, Philips, ASUS, Acer, HTC and many more world brand names. These awarded products will soon begin an all-year grand global tour to display at leading ICT exhibitions.
During show days the Computex Taipei d&i awarded products are showcased at Nangang Exhibition Hall, Booth #I0407. In addition, the organisers of Computex Taipei are offering a four-day unlimited free Metro pass for international visitors. These passes are embedded into the event’s badges.
Computex Taipei is also offering indoor positioning and navigation system using iBeacon technology. Through the Computex app, which was launched today, visitors can easily arrange the shortest and quickest way around the show venues. In addition to Android and iOS systems, for the very first time, Computex app for Windows Phone system has also been launched.
