Review: Huawei Honor 6 Plus

Slim and sleek, the Honor 6 Plus from Huawei packs enough juice to run any modern Android app or game with ease, and has a gorgeous full HD display that makes watching videos and playing games a delight! The device also packs in superb camera technology and looks like a great replacement if you have been considering a new smartphone.

The price of the device has also been set by Huawei keeping in mind the mid-range market, making it quite affordable as well! The Honor 6 Plus has the same familiar design that we earlier saw with the Huawei Honor 6. The size has been increased and the device has a screen size of 5.5 inches. The body has also been trimmed a little, and you get to enjoy a superb screen-to-body ratio of almost 73%.

Huawei has taken care that users will not run short of computing power when using the smartphone. An Octa-core processor combined with 3 GB of RAM and the high-performance Mali T628 graphics processor make the Huawei Honor 6 Plus ready for any performance test you might want to subject it to.

The Octa-core processor is the real reason for picking the Honor 6 Plus, and easily prevails over other smartphones in its class. 4×1.8 GHz A15 processors in conjunction with 4×1.3 GHz A7 processors make this a truly mean machine. Both the cameras in the device are 8 MP and can record videos in high definition!

To power this beast of a device, Huawei has also made sure that the battery bundled with the Honor 6 Plus is stronger and longer lasting. The 3600 mAh battery will make sure that just a couple of hours of usage do not leave you with a dead phone.

Huawei Honor 6 Plus is sturdy, and has a unibody design which makes is strong and capable of withstanding a few knocks and small drops. You should get a back cover for the phone though, since the glass like body of the phone, especially on the back, will lead to a few slips over time. A cover with improved grip will make this phone last a whole lot longer and keep you from visiting the Huawei service centre.

Honor 6 Plus does not come with any physical buttons on the front, a norm which most new Android phones are following today, giving the smartphone a clean look. The display itself is relatively safe from damage, thanks to the Corning Gorilla Glass 3, which will keep all but the most direct and high impact bumps from scratching the surface.

Google has already announced Android M, and users all across the world cannot wait to get the updates for their phone. Huawei is offering the Honor 6 Plus with Android 4.4 which it has modified and skinned extensively. Huawei has gone to great lengths to get the user experience right and offers custom made apps for even stock options like Gallery, File Manager and Email.

Slick device, great power, decent battery and impressive OS customisations make Huawei Honor 6 Plus a smartphone definitely worth checking out!
