Review: Apple iPad Pro

EditorsChoiceApple Inc. entered into the market with the iPad in the year 2010. The iPad was the most waited product of Apple and after its launched it flooded into the market like anything. After the iPad and the iPad Mini series, the company is out with a new series as iPad Pro. Launched in November 2015, iPad Pro gives the user a completely new and enriching experience.

The iPad Pro comes out in three different colours namely; Silver, Gold and Space Grey. The tablet has the highest resolution retina display of any iOS device till date. The 12.9 inches multi touch display is lit by LEDs. The screen display is unique since it has a Fingerprint resistant oleophobic and anti-reflective coating on it. It is fully laminated for enhanced protection. iPad Pro works on 64 bit A9X Chip and M9 motion coprocessor.

It has a Dual-core 2.26 GHz processor that makes it 1.8 times faster than iPad Air 2 in its operations. It runs on iOS 9 which is further upgradable to iOS 9.2. With 4 GB of RAM the iPad comes out in two variants – 32 GB and 128 GB. There is no option to further expand the memory since there is no external memory card slot.

The iPad Pro comes with a Smart Keyboard which is a keyboard like no other. A full-size keyboard is very handy to use since it is portable. The user just has to attach it to the iPad and start typing. Another accessory to the table is the Apple Pencil. It takes the creativity to a next level.

The iPad is reactive to both tilt and pressure that gives more room to use it the way one wants. The top quality 8 Megapixels camera of iPad Pro is loaded with a number of features like Autofocus, Panorama, f/2.4 Aperture, Hybrid IR Filter, Exposure Control and Backside Illumination. It records 1080 pixels HD videos with Slo-mo and Time lapse.

There is a 1.2 megapixels front camera installed too that can record videos of quality up to 720 pixels. It has an improved face detection feature and also the burst mode similar to the rear camera. The iPad allows FaceTime audio and video calling to any of the FaceTime enabled device through a Wi-Fi or a mobile network. Of course in many markets in the Middle East, FaceTime is a feature that is not offered on the device due to local telecom regulations.

The iPad has 2 variants in terms of connection – the Wi-Fi model and the Wi-Fi + Cellular model. Both of them have a Touch ID, Three-axis gyro, Accelerometer, Barometer and an Ambient Light Sensor installed in them. The touch ID can be used for unlocking the iPad, securing personal data within the apps or making purchases from the iTunes Store or the App Store. There is a non-removable 10,307 mAh battery that lasts up to 10 hours of multimedia use.

The iPad is just 6.9 mm thin and weighs only 713 gms but is loaded with truly powerful features. The price of the iPad Pro starts at $799.

It is a must buy for every tablet lover since it is a combination of style and essentials. Its glossy look makes it more attractive and there is no comparison regarding its features. One cannot deny the fact that iPad Pro has taken the technology of the tablets to a new level.

Price: Starts at $799
