Are you participating at GITEX Shopper this year?
Since the inception of GITEX Shopper, Jumbo is among the biggest retail exhibitors over the years. As the largest and most influential consumer IT and electronics sales exhibition in the Middle East, Gitex Shopper is an event that continues to reinvent itself and is extremely popular with shoppers in the UAE, and across the wider region.
What are your plans for GITEX Shopper this year? What is your theme this year?
Keeping in mind that several customers plan their key technology purchases around GITEX Shopper, Jumbo will showcase the latest and most comprehensive line-up of products, along with a fabulous range of competitive offers, promotions, and premium giveaways. Since GITEX Shopper has been a launch pad for the latest gadgets and products in the market, we are anticipating new products from major brands taking advantage of the hype surrounding the show.
Among the latest products that will be showcased at our stands are the much awaited iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, Sony Xperia XZ and FIFA 17. We are also set to roll out exciting promotions and bundle offers on key products such as smartphones, laptops, premium UHD/4K televisions, digital SLRs, wearables and fitness brands among others. Furthermore, there will be premium giveaways that shoppers will receive throughout the eight-day event.
What technology and market trends have you seen this year in the Middle East market?
Over the years, smartphones – with key features such as better camera, long lasting battery life, vivid screen resolutions and software functions – have been leading the market and we will continue to see this trend this year.
Consumers are also looking to buy laptops that are lightweight with faster processors and bigger memory. Versatility is also a popular feature that attracts buyers to have 2-in-1 laptops that can serve both as a laptop or a tablet. Other products that continue to gain traction from health buffs and athletes are smartwatches and health bands. Virtual Reality (VR) products are also starting to show a lot of promise and we expect to see a spike in sales not only at GITEX Shopper but also in the coming months.
Will you be launching any new products or solutions at GITEX this year?
Aside from the newly launched iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and Sony Xperia XZ; Samsung S7 and S7 Edge continue to attract customers and remain as among our best seller products. Intel has launched its latest and fastest 7th generation processor that allows laptops to do more and we will be showcasing these laptops at the show. For the gaming enthusiasts, the big news is that the FIFA 17 will be available at GITEX Shopper.
How does GITEX Shopper fit into your overall regional strategies?
As GITEX Shopper has reached iconic status, consumers tend to wait for this event to do their technological purchases. Big IT brands in the region time their launch during this period and roll out great deals and offers for their products. GITEX Shopper is a much-anticipated event drawing thousands of visitors every season and is one of the most important events for us and remains an integral part of our marketing calendar.
