Last month, Aksys Games had said that it would be releasing a new Double Dragon game for PS4 and PC, featuring the same 8-bit style graphics and music as the original Double Dragon games on the NES. Of course, that’s reason enough to get excited – but now PlayStation 4 owners have a little bit more good news.
Aksys has revealed that the game will release a day earlier on the PS4 than anticipated, arriving on January 29th instead of the previously announced date of January 30th. The Steam release date, however, remains unchanged, still set to go on the 30th.
The company didn’t give a price just yet, but it did note that the game will support up to two players (offline only, sadly), and also has been given a Teen rating. “Key team members involved in the 1987 arcade version including Original Planner, Yoshihisa Kishimoto, Designer Koji Ogata, and Composer Kazunaka Yamane have teamed up to recreate the next chapter in the Double Dragon saga,” the company noted in a press release.
