Twitter has launched a new content discovery tab under the name of ‘Explore’ that will be a centralized place to see what’s happening on Twitter. The Explore tab will combine the Trends and Search tools under a single tab to make it easier for everyone to browse and search for great content.
The Trends tool shows people what topics are currently being discussed on Twitter, and the Search tool helps people find anything and everything. Previously, people had to browse through different tabs in order to discover the latest stories, and take part in the conversation, whereas the new Explore tab enables people to view different content in one location.
Kinda Ibrahim, Director of Media Partnerships at Twitter for the Middle East and North Africa commented on the launch of the new tab stating, “At Twitter, we are constantly looking at new ways to make the platform easier and more intuitive for people to use, and the Explore tab enables people to find what’s trending and popular in a seamless manner.” She added, “Soon, people will also be able to find the best live videos within the Explore tab, as part of our continuous efforts to enhance the overall Twitter experience.”
The Explore tab has rolled out globally on Twitter for iOS, and will be available in the coming weeks on Twitter for Android. For the new Explore tab to appear, people need to download the latest version of Twitter. Twitter will continue to focus on Explore and evolve its approach to make it easier to find great content.
