NEC Intros 4K UHD Projector at ISE 2018

NEC Display Solutions Europe will debut the latest 4K projector in its industry-leading PX Series, the NEC PX1005QL, at ISE 2018 in Amsterdam.

The new laser projector provides outstanding picture quality resulting in an engaging visualisation experience with high brightness, up to 4K input signal, and unique picture and colour processing technology based on the latest NEC scaler chip. The result is a more detailed, “pixel free” image with greater detail than ever before, delivering on NEC’s promise to deliver endless impressions that connect, engage, and impress.

NEC has used its long heritage in cinema projection to design a product that meets the rapidly-growing demand for large digital canvasses in meeting spaces, boardrooms, and from conferences and education establishments to digital signage in retail or leisure areas.

The new projector features future-proof connectivity and processing, with numerous 4K resolution inputs including Quad 3G SDI, two DisplayPort and HDMI inputs each, plus an optional slot for 4K/UHD Open Pluggable Specification (OPS) Slot-in PCs. The PX Series provides pixel-free viewing at large scale, and can show various inputs in parallel such as video and PowerPoint.

Meanwhile, PX1005QL projectors incorporate a laser light source, enabling new higher brightness levels combined with low operational cost for new applications, large screen sizes, less impact from ambient light, and lower power consumption. The devices are practically maintenance-free, with controllable lifetime colour performance without requiring panel or optical filter replacement.

With typically 20,000 hours of laser life time, the PX1005QL further reduces the lifetime cost of ownership, and making it an impressive and highly affordable projector for organisations ranging from large venues to colleges and schools.

“Organisations of all sizes and budgets are looking for a way to display razor-sharp imagery for everything from presentations to video conferencing,” said Gerd Kaiser, Senior Product Line Manager, Large Venue Projectors at NEC Display Solutions Europe. “With the NEC PX1005QL enterprises unite the main advancements of modern visualisation in their meeting rooms and large venue spaces. The high brightness of 10,000 ANSI lumens allows very large and freely scalable images and provide the highest levels of detail and colour accuracy thanks to their 4K UHD resolution and cinema image quality.

“When focussing on the best image quality users will enjoy lowest initial and operational cost. This is helped by the fact that the new projector is Risk Group 2 compliant, which means that there are no prescribed safety precautions necessary, which has a big impact on the total cost of ownership.”

The PX1005QL features fully-flexible 360-degree installation, unique geometric adjustment, Picture-in-Picture capability, and 3D support. The projector incorporates a wide zoom bayonet lens portfolio as well as support for third party lens, enabling customised installations and easy replacement for existing installation projectors.

The new NEC PX1005QL projector will be for the first time showcased at the international ISE event in Amsterdam and estimated availability will be in June 2018.
