For those hoping to find a new 5G smartphone in the affordable price range, Samsung has officially announced the new Galaxy A42 5G, featuring a large display and decent specifications under its hood.
It’s not surprising that affordable smartphones come with large displays, and so the Samsung Galaxy A42 5G features a 6.6-inch Super AMOLED display. The displays support a screen resolution of 2400 x 1080 and a screen brightness that is rated at 399ppi. An interesting fact is that Samsung has mounted the fingerprint scanner under the screen, something that is usually found in high-end models.
The smartphone has a wide-angle selfie camera with a 20MP sensor. The backside of the device features a total of four different cameras, with the main shooter packing 48 megapixels and has a sensor size of 1/2.0. The second camera has an 8MP shooter for ultra-wide shots, the third camera packs a 5MP snapper for macro photography and the last one is also a 5MP shooter for depth sensing. While the main camera is capable of 4K video recording, you can only record them at 30fps.
Samsung still has yet to reveal the chipset details. However, the smartphone does pack 128GB of internal storage, along with MicroSD card support. The Galaxy A42 5G runs on the latest Android 10 based One UI 2.5 OS. Other features include Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi 802.11ac, USB Type-C port, and more. Speaking of which, the device packs a large 5000 mAh battery with support for fast charging.
The Samsung Galaxy A42 5G will come in black, white, and grey colors and is expected to be released later this year. We will update you on the local pricing and availability of the Galaxy A42 5G in the UAE.
