Microsoft to announce next generation Windows OS soon

During the Build 2021 event, Microsoft had announced that they will be unveiling a new “next-generation” Windows operating system soon.

Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft, announced the development of the new version and mentions that he is excited about the new Windows OS. It’s interesting to note that Nadella calls the new version of Windows “Next-generation” and not the usual Windows 10, leading to the possibility that we may see a new name, along with significant changes in the user interface.

“Soon we will share one of the most significant updates to Windows of the past decade to unlock greater economic opportunity for developers and creators. I’ve been self-hosting it over the past several months, and I’m incredibly excited about the next generation of Windows. Our promise to you is this: we will create more opportunities for every Windows developer today and welcome every creator who is looking for the most innovative, new, open platform to build and distribute and monetize applications. We look forward to sharing more very soon.”- Satya Nadella, CEO, Microsoft.

There have already been reports that the company is working on a new version of the Windows Store platform. Furthermore, Microsoft had officially confirmed that they will not be shipping out Windows 10X OS anymore, and instead, will introduce the features of the 10X into the original Windows 10 OS. Windows 10X was an operating system designed for dual-screen devices.

The company has already introduced Windows 10 updates that featured new system icons, Xbox Auto HDR feature, Bluetooth audio support improvements, solving the rearranging issue of apps on multiple monitors, and more.

There is no word yet on the improvements that the “next-generation” Windows would offer and how it could benefit PC gamers and normal users. Nadella did not mention any specific date for the announcement. However, expect the new announcement to happen in the coming days.
