DEWA to showcase its smart eServices at GITEX 2013

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) announced its annual participation at GITEX 2013, which will be held in October at Dubai World Trade Centre.

As a Governmental entity, DEWA takes part every year in the Dubai Smart Government’s stand to showcase its smart eServices at GITEX, one of the world’s three biggest events specialised in technology and communications.

DEWA’s stand will provide customers and visitors with the opportunity to learn more about its smart and state-of-the-art eServices. DEWA is leading the way in adopting the latest technologies to further improve and promote its services.

“DEWA’s strategy is strongly aligned with Dubai Government’s approach to adopt latest electronic services. Led by its vision to become a sustainable world-class utility, DEWA contributes to the social, economic, and environmental development in Dubai to achieve the vision of the Emirate. We provide cutting-edge services to further increase the reliability of eServices, in line with our initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable development, preserving natural resources, and optimizing overall operations,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA.

“We are currently implementing advanced technologies to significantly optimise our services, improve our corporate excellence, and exceed our customers’ expectations.”

“We aim to raise the number of our smart services and applications to provide efficient services. Our strategy has enabled us to achieve several accomplishments and exceeding our customers’ expectations. We are committed to adopting the highest international standards to meet our customers’ needs. Our smart eServices enable our customer to complete their transactions anytime and from anywhere conveniently and securely,” explained Al Tayer.

“We are committed to providing efficient, reliable and easy services and applications to comfort our customers. The eServices save time, money and the environment, in addition to reducing carbon emissions by minimising the use of paper and the visits of our customers to our centres,” said Eng. Marwan Bin Haider, Vice President of IT and CIO at DEWA.

“We are keen to participate in such event to promote our latest smart services and applications, and interact with our customers,” added Eng. Bin Haider.

DEWA will organise a daily raffle for customers who complete their online transactions and use eServices through DEWA website from 1 September 2013, to 17 October 2013. Customers should use the following services to be entitled to take part in the raffle: Final Bill Request, Activation of Supply, ePay, through DEWA website (dewa.gov.ae), mPay, through mobile phones, and Auto-Pay.

DEWA’s participation in GITEX is in line with the Smart Government, and in accordance with the UAE Government’s efforts to raise awareness on smart eServices and applications.

DEWA is the first leading governmental entity to develop smart applications for smart phones and tablets including Android-based devices, iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows Phone 7, BlackBerry, BlackBerry Playbook, Blackberry 10, and Windows Phone 8.

DEWA’s applications include several services and features that enable customers to keep up-to-date with the Authority’s news, learn more about its latest activities, watch the video gallery, use the bill enquiry and electronic payment service (ePay and mPay services), send photos and comments to the customer service centre, learn about the working hours of the customer service offices, and locate the nearest payment centre using Google Maps.

DEWA is one of leading governmental entities participating in the Dubai Smart Government stand (S2-B21) at GITEX 2013 being held from 20 to 24, October 2013 at Sheikh Saeed Hall, at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Through its participation in the exhibition, DEWA aims to strengthen collaborations with various ministries, organisations, and governmental entities, achieve best international standards in customer services, and further expand its services to include all community segments.
