The case itself is made from ballistic nylon, which is a tough material that is often used on higher-end luggage and travel cases in the airline industry.
In terms of sound quality, the Backbeat Go 2 produced excellent sound. The Bluetooth connection stayed strong even when walking away from the phone resting on a desk.
