Google has finally released its new version of the Chromecast software development kit (SDK). This is a device that helps users push audio or video content to a television screen by streaming via Wi-Fi.
The preview version of the Chromecast dongle was first released in July last year. Since then, several other services have become available for the SDK.
According to Google, developers do not necessarily have to build a new app for the Chromecast SDK. Instead, developers can construct Chromecast support for mobile apps that are already on iOS and Android.
This could mean that the service is not limited to those that offer streaming media, such as Netflix, Pandora, and Hulu. For example, cloud storage services now have the chance to incorporate or build a video conferencing feature into their existing mobile apps, the report explained.
