The wait is almost over for technology fans and smart shoppers eager to get their hands on the latest gadgets at the lowest prices as this year’s GITEX Shopper gets set to kick off tomorrow morning at 11am, at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Anticipation has been high for the Middle East’s largest consumer IT and electronics retail show, which runs from 27th September – 4th October, and has a strong lineup of new and returning exhibitors once again delivering more than 30,000 amazing products.
Power retailers and well-known brands will be competing to deliver the lowest prices and best value buys on an array of smartphones, tablets, laptops, smart TVs, wearable technology, flying cameras and a myriad of weird and wonderful gadgets and gizmos. Visitors can expect to see big promotions from well-known brands such as Better Life, Dell, Lenovo, Samsung and Siemens and retail giants including Jacky’s Electronics, Jumbo Electronics, Sharaf DG and Max Electronics.
Trixie LohMirmand, Senior Vice President, Dubai World Trade Centre, organizer of the event is expecting another successful show and said: “This year looks to be the biggest edition of GITEX Shopper yet, with a number of incredible products, new launches and discounts. The launch of the iPhone 6 coinciding with this year’s GITEX Shopper has organizers expecting record numbers as iPhone fans seek out the new edition at the lowest prices in the region. Initial speculation as to whether it would be available in time has been confirmed by a number of power retailers preparing their inventory for the show.
Nadeem Khanzadah, Head-Retail, Jumbo Electronics, said: “The recent stream of smartphone launches will drive increased customer traffic to the GITEX Shopper 2014. In particular, we expect to attract a number of aspirational Apple users to the Jumbo stand where we will be showcasing the newly-launched iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, which are set to retail from AED2,599 and AED2,999 respectively.”
Mahesh Chotrani, Assistant Vice President, Jacky’s Electronics also commented: “With much anticipation following the official launch iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, we are expecting to have official stock available at Jacky’s stands during GITEX Shopper. Our suppliers are working with us to ensure we meet these timelines and it is our endeavor to guarantee as much as we can for this vital sales period.”
Samsung wowed shoppers at the spring edition of GITEX Shopper earlier this year when it unveiled the curved UHD TV to the regional market, and they are set to do it again having promised a number of exciting launches and promotions alongside their flagship smartphones, tablets and cameras.

Additional to the endless bargains on offer, this year’s visitors have the chance to win a number of incredible prizes and giveaways including tickets to watch FC Barcelona play live in Spain, scholarships for bright young students to study a Bachelor’s degree at Amity University Dubai, cameras and digital gadgets and the major prize – a limited edition Honda Accord to be given away every day.
Centrally located at the Dubai World Trade Centre, visitors have the option of arriving by metro which is conveniently located just meters from the door, or by car as there is ample parking for those driving. GITEX Shopper 2014 will take place from 27 September – 4 October and will open from 11:00am – 11:00pm every day. Tickets are priced at AED 30 per person and are available at the venue and at select Emarat outlets. A promotional entry ticket price of AED 10 is available for students pre-registered in groups over 50. Entry is free for children below the age of five.
