Looks like Asus is all set to launch the ZenWatch pretty soon as the company has announced three new apps for the device on the Google Play Store. The Asus ZenWatch, which was first announced at IFA Berlin 2014 does not have a circular display like most of its competitors do. The Asus ZenWatch is being marketed as a premium smartwatch, with a bright AMOLED display, curved edges and a high quality leather strap, putting it on par with devices like the Moto 360 and LG G Watch R.
The Asus ZenWatch release date is expected to be soon, as the three new apps that have appeared on the Google Play Store are major parts of the devices features. The Asus ZenWatch runs Android Wear with Asus Zen UI on top. The Asus ZenWatch Manager has a number of functions that help set up the device. ASUS ZenWatch Manager helps you set up your ZenWatch, change the watch face to match your personal style, and use a variety of convenient features such as Cover to Mute, Unlock My Phone, and Find My Phone. ZenWatch manager even lets you easily and quickly send a preset message from ZenWatch in an emergency situation.
The other Asus ZenWatch apps that are up on the Google Play Store are Remote Camera, which allows you to access your phone’s camera viewfinder through the watch and set it up to take selfies and unique angles. The third Asus ZenWatch app that is up on the Google Play Store is Asus Wellness, which as you might guess has a number of health tracking features like heart rate, steps, relaxation levels, calories burned and overall wellness states.
The Asus ZenWatch release date may be soon, however the availability may still be limited when it launches. Apparently only 300 devices will first be launched in Taiwan this month, followed by other markets in the world in a phased manner. So far we don’t have confirmation about the Asus ZenWatch price, except it to be on par with the Moto 360 and LG G Watch R, most likely around $250 to $300.
