Parrot MiniKit Neo 2 HD is a Bluetooth hands-free speakerphone that features with HD voice support and voice control commands. It is an innovative device that is developed by a French based wireless product company, Parrot. The device combines innovative technology in a stylish and compact design, which allows you to make and receive calls without even touching the buttons.
The device is developed to be installed in the cars, so that you don’t face any problem in receiving your phone calls while driving. Parrot Minikit Neo 2 HD is pretty similar to the previous generations of Parrot’s Bluetooth speakerphones. The device is much smaller than the previous versions as it measures 3.70 inches in length, 2.12 inches in width and 1.53 inches in thickness, the weight of the device is 2.43 ounces.
The previous versions like Minikit Slim and Minikit+ used thin wire to hold the sun visor of the car, but this time Minikit Neo uses thick plastic grip for the same purpose. The control pattern of the device is similar to the Minikit line as both the devices feature with button marked with green LED that can be used to answer the phone calls or to call any person in your phone book.
A button marked with red LED is used to end the calls and exit the menus. The Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology is used in the device that helps to reduce road noise and echo. The 3 watt NXT speakers installed in the device are suited for voice calling, but they are not so good when it comes to listening music. On the side of the device, there is a micro USB port which can be used for charging and updating the software.
Along with the device, Parrot also offers free companion software for the smartphones that is compatible with Android as well as iOS smartphones. The home screen of this app has several useful options such as Find My Car, Voice Recognition, Auto-Reply SMS, Customize Jingle, Driving Time Reminder and many more.
Find My Car option finds the last latitude, longitude and the street address of the last pairing of your Minikit Neo with your car. The Driving Time Reminder lets you know when you have to take a break during a long journey. The Auo-Reply SMS feature allows you to automatically reply a message in your inbox and also sends a message to the rejected callers so that they know that you are driving.
The device is blessed with a decent 1000 mAh battery that can run the device for a long duration without bothering to charge it. The device smartly utilizes the power of the battery through its ultra-low power mode and vibration sensor. When the unit is unused for a long period, it moves to an ultra-low power mode, which can be said as a deep sleep mode so that is can save battery for up to 6 months on a full charge. The estimated talk time is 10 hours when the device is charged for 3 hours.
