XTouch has launched its new flagship in an effort to bring the benefits of good design aesthetics and wireless technology at quite an affordable price. The specs of this phone indicate this sentiment with the phone featuring a 5.8-inch HD+ display, MediaTek MT6737H chipset, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage, 8MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, fingerprint scanner, wireless charging support and a 2,800mAh battery.
XTouch X is available in full gift and standard package options. The standard package comes with a phone and wireless sports earphones, priced at AED 699 (including VAT). The gift bundle has an additional wireless power bank (8,000mAh) along with the phone and wireless sports earphones, and costs AED 819 (including VAT). The gift box, that we received for review, also contains a plastic phone cover and screen protector in addition to a standard USB charger.
The XTouch X is a decent looking phone and is comfortable to hold. The device has a shiny metal frame along the sides with a glossy plastic back panel and its glass screen has 18:9 aspect ratio. The spacious 5.8-inch display is sharp with vibrant colours. We found the brightness levels to be excellent giving great visibility outdoors.
The volume and power buttons are placed on the left hand side which is different from most phones and may take some getting used to. The upper end of the device has a 3.5mm headphone jack while the microUSB port and the mono speaker sit at the bottom of the phone. On the back panel, you will find the camera with a standard LED flash, a fingerprint scanner and a circular space marked for wireless charging.
XTouch 8,000mAh wireless power bank
The speaker on the phone is mediocre, so you may want to plug-in your bundled earphones if you are a music enthusiast. The earphones, however, claim an impressive sound quality with a decent battery life that lasted around 7-8 hours on single charge. The phone will only allow you to access 7-8GB of internal storage after system use which is barely enough space for storage-intensive apps and a few videos or movies.
XTouch wireless sports earphones
The XTouch X houses a 2,800mAh non-removable battery that will get you through the day on a single charge with moderate usage. While the packaged 8,000mAh power bank comes as a relief in such a scenario, but that would mean shelling out some extra bucks for the gift pack.
There’s an 8MP camera on the back and a 5MP front camera that will give you some decent shots in will-lit conditions, but nothing to boast about. In low-light conditions, the photo quality drops visibly. What we got were pictures clear enough for sharing, but grainy and fuzzy on zooming. On the brighter side, you can shoot videos at 1080p/30fps which turn out to be pretty good.
Considering its price point and the audience that XTouch is targeting, the XTouch X is a pretty decent budget phone with premium design and feel. It does not have too much pre-installed bloatware as with some other phones and can even be uninstalled for that extra space. The phone takes decent pictures under the right conditions and some pretty good video shots as well. While it does offer wireless earphones in both packages, the wireless power bank demands extra bucks.

Overall, the XTouch X is a good buy for those looking for premium phone features in a budget phone and considering the added instalment payment option, the lower picture quality and short battery life are not really deal breakers.
