While Apple is expected to release new versions of its iMac, previous rumors indicated that the new iMac may come with the Face ID feature. But according to Jioriku, who is a trusted leakster for Apple products, mentioned that the Cupertino company may not be bringing the facial recognition technology on their upcoming iMac.
New iMac information!
This generation will not have the new FaceID bezel tech. Apple may be looking into this, but it is not coming this time around. Purely a display and drive upgrade this time around. The .plist file that it was shown in is just showing compatibility.

This is quite a disappointing news indeed for those who have been holding out to invest in a new iMac that features the Face ID. The information was mentioned on a Twitter post by Jioriku and the leakster had also revealed more details. For starters, the new iMac is expected to come with new bezels that are as thin as the one on the Apple Pro Display XDR. However, there is no indication yet if the new iMac will feature a similar box-type design as the professional 6K monitor. That said, Jioriku did also mention that the 2020 iMac will come with Liquid Retina display technology that is currently used on the Apple iPhone 11 and the 2020 Apple iPad Pro.
The new iMac is also expected to come with a new PCIe NVMe storage solution, which will be replacing the Fusion Drives used on the current iMac models. With fast PCIe NVMe drives, content creators and normal consumers will benefit from the extremely fast read and write speeds of the drive. Apple is also expected to include the T2 security chip on the upcoming iMac. Apple is also rumored to be readying a 23-inch iMac with an affordable price tag. Expect the brand to use AMD Navi GPU on the new 2020 iMacs. The Cupertino company is expected to reveal the new iMac during the WWDC 2020 event later this month.
