HONOR recently introduced their latest mid-range smartphone that features a stylish design, a good camera, and more. We review the new HONOR X7e Plus 5G, and here are our thoughts about the smartphone.
Design
The new HONOR X7e Plus 5G is designed for those who want the latest mid-range smartphones that offer a premium feel in an affordable package. The device comes with a 6.87-inch TFT screen, which, while not the greatest, still offers considerable viewing angles and colors. The refresh rate hits at 120Hz, which is great, and the brightness reaches up to 1020 nits. The screen resolution is a respectable 720 x 1592 pixels, which should showcase sharp texts and images.
The device is 8.3 mm thick and weighs about 216.5 grams. The speaker holes are located at the bottom, along with the USB-C port and the SIM slot. The volume rocker and power button are on the right side, and the AI button is on the left side.
Both the frame and the rear side of the device are made of plastic. The rear panel also features a matte finish, along with a camera island that holds two camera modules and one flash. The HONOR logo is also seen on the rear side. The HONOR X7e Plus 5G comes in velvet black, meteor silver, and desert gold, and we got the desert gold as a review sample.
As a part of the packaging, you get the HONOR X7e Plus 5G, one charger, one USB Type-C cable, one eject pin, a quick start guide, a warranty card, a TP protective sheet, and one TPU protective case.
Camera
On the rear side of the device, there is the 50 MP camera with an f/1.8 aperture lens, along with an auxiliary lens with an aperture of f/3.0. The camera is capable of recording 1080p videos at 30 fps and 8x digital zoom capability. The front-facing camera is a modest 5 MP camera, also capable of 1080p videos.

Peformance & Features
The HONOR X7e Plus 5G is powered by the Qualcomm SM4450-AF Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 SoC, an octa-core chip that features two 2.3 GHz Cortex-A78 cores and six 1.95 GHz Cortex-A55 cores. The SoC holds the Adreno 613 iGPU. The smartphone comes in 128GB and 256GB storage capacities. The 128GB model features 6GB RAM, and the 256GB comes with 8GB RAM. The device runs on Android 16 OS with MagicOS 10 UI optimizations. The performance of the device is good for normal, on-the-go entertainment and light mobile gaming.

Other features of the device include Bluetooth 5.1 and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac connectivity. There is also a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The device houses a massive 8100 mAh Li-Po battery, and the smartphone has support for 45W wired fast charge and 7.5W reverse wired charging. However, it does not have wireless charging capability.
Verdict
If you are looking for an affordable smartphone that features a stylish design and has an outstanding water resistance capability, then the HONOR X7e Plus 5G is a recommended choice. The device sports a 6.87-inch TFT screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 1020 nits of brightness. The smartphone comes with IP68/IP69K certification for resistance against high-pressure water and immersible up to 1.5 m for half an hour.
