Review: Honor MagicPad4 Tablet

User Rating: 9

Honor is one of the few brands that offer premium Android tablets, and the MagicPad4 is their latest addition, featuring the latest Snapdragon processor, OLED display, slim design, and more. We got a chance to try out the Honor MagicPad4, and here are our thoughts about the tablet.

Design

The new MagicPad4 features an all-metal unibody chassis that is 4.8mm thick and weighs 450 g. The device comes with a large 12.3-inch OLED display that sports 2400 nits of peak brightness and a fast 165Hz refresh rate. The screen resolution is configured as 1920 x 3000 pixels. Honor mentions that the Hybrid OLED display is about 23% slimmer than previous models.

The device also uses the third generation dual-R corner curves, which help with the grip, while holding the tablet with one or both hands. There is the volume rocker, the power button, four speaker grills (two on each side), and a USB-C port.

The MagicPad4 comes in gray and white colors, and as you can see, we received the gray color model for review. Honor also mentions that the tablet uses internal screen cushions that can help resist impacts.

As a part of the packaging, you get the MagicPad4, a charger, a USB Type-C cable, a quick start guide, and a warranty card.

Features and Performance

The new MagicPad4 sports a 13MP main camera on the rear side, along with an F2 autofocus lens. The front-facing camera holds a 9MP selfie sensor with F2.2 as its aperture. Both the front and rear cameras are capable of 4K and 1080p video recording at 30fps. When it comes to performance, the device comes chipped with the octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC, along with Adreno 829 as its iGPU.

The tablet runs on Android 16 OS, blended with Honor’s MagicOS 10 user interface. When it comes to storage, there is the 256GB model with 12GB RAM, along with the higher 512GB storage variant with a massive 16GB RAM, which should help for smooth multi-tasking. To keep the performance intact, Honor also implemented the HONOR Ice Cooling System that consists of a dual-direction vapor chamber circulation, and using ultra-high-thermal-conductivity hexagonal graphite for efficient cooling and maximum performance.

Users can use the tablet in a PC experience by simply connecting the keyboard and enabling the PC mode for instant switching of the interface. The PC mode delivers a very familar desktop-class experience, enhanced file management, multi-window workflow, split-screen layouts, and more.

The tablet performed very well with almost no lags while we used the tablet. We tested the device using several benchmark apps, which include Antutu, 3DMark, and Geekbench 7. Take a look at the scores below.

Benchmarks

Other features include the AI Magic Pencil, AI meetings, one-tap transfers between Honor devices and the tablet, connections with Mac, and more. The tablet also houses a large 10,100 mAh battery, which Honor mentions that the battery features a record-breaking thinness, along with support for 66W of fast wired charge. The device also comes with WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 6 wireless connectivity. The speakers on the tablet come with support for AI Spatial Audio, Bass Boost, and IMAX-enhanced audio-visual enhancements.

The device has a large 12.3-inch OLED display, along with 2400 nits of peak brightness, 1920 x 3000 as its screen resolution, and 165Hz as its refresh rate.
