While many brands have started to focus on 4K gaming monitors, Philips has officially introduced its latest 4K monitor called the 279C9, featuring an IPS panel with very slim bezels that makes it suitable for a multi-monitor setup. The new 27-inch monitor is aimed for professional users to view images at high clarity and at 4K resolution. This comes to use when viewing highly detailed images or models via CAD. It’s also perfectly suited for viewing content from YouTube and Netflix that already stream at 4K resolution.
While the new monitor may not be aimed at gaming, users will be able to achieve up to 75 Hz refresh rates when using the Display Port. The monitor also brings support for AMD FreeSync to reduce screen tearing. The Philips 279C9 monitor also packs the DisplayHDR 400 that offers realistic visuals and colours. The inclusion of DisplayPort 400 also ensures that the screen can achieve a peak brightness of 400 nits. Philips has also other features such as the LowBlue Mode that reduces the emission of blue light from the screen and Flicker-Free technology that basically reduces the flickers. All these technologies are aimed to reduce eye strains and eye fatigue that can happen during prolonged usage.
The monitor also comes with a USB Type-C port with support for power delivery 3.0 and can charge devices that use up to 65 watts. Other ports on the rear side of the monitor include Display Port 1.4, two HDMI 2.0 ports, and a USB dock that supports up to four USB 3.2 ports. While there is no word on the availability of the monitor in the UAE, the Philips 279C9 is set to hit the European market by the end of August for 489 Euros (approx. 2127 AED).
