Xiaomi announces the Redmi G affordable gaming laptop with 144Hz display

Redmi G

Xiaomi has officially unveiled its latest affordable gaming laptop called the Redmi G. The new laptop features decent specifications under its hood and comes in three different configurations.

Redmi G

The new Xiaomi Redmi G features a 16.1-inch display with an IPS panel that has Full HD screen resolution. The screen is capable of peak brightness of 300 nits and can cover 100% of the sRGB colour space. One of the main features is the refresh rate that can go up to 144 Hz. Since the bezels are very slim, Xiaomi had to relocate the webcam to the bottom of the screen. Out of the three different configurations, the highest model comes with an Intel i7-10750H processor and the NVIDIA GTX 1650 Ti GPU. The mid-range configuration of the Redmi G comes with the Intel i5-10300H processor and the NVIDIA GTX 1650 Ti graphics. The lower-end model features an Intel i5-10200H and a slower NVIDIA GTX 1650 graphics chip.

That said, all the three configurations feature 16GB RAM that is clocked at 2993 MHz and a blazingly fast 512GB PCIe 4 NVMe SSD. The Redmi G weighs 2.5 kg and is 24.35mm thick. Other features of the laptop include a large and smooth trackpad, a backlit keyboard, and a 55 Wh battery that is claimed to go on for five and a half hours.
