HMD officially unveils the Nokia 2.4, Nokia 3.4 and the Nokia 8.3 5G smartphones in the UAE

Nokia new range

HMD has officially announced its latest range entry-level and mid-range smartphones, namely the Nokia 2.4, the Nokia 3.4, and the Nokia 8.3 5G smartphone, the latter being the company’s first 5G capable smartphone to enter the market. HMD also unveiled a range of new accessories such as earbuds and portable wireless speakers.

Let’s start with the Nokia 8.3 5G. While the smartphone was already announced earlier this year, the launch of the device was delayed. The company is now ready to release the Nokia 8.3 5G, that features a 6.81-inch Puredisplay IPS display with 1080p+ (2400 x 1080) as its screen resolution. The smartphone is 9mm thick and weighs about 220g. The display also features an aspect ratio of 20:9 and 386ppi. Nokia 8.3

The smartphone has a punch-hole camera on the upper left side, housing a 24MP selfie camera that is backed up with a ZEISS lens. The Nokia 8.3 5G houses a circular camera module on its rear side with four camera sensors. The main camera is a 64MP shooter with an aperture of F1.9 for wide shots, along with a 12MP ultrawide shooter with F2.2 aperture. The ultra-wide camera is said to feature good low-light capability. The third and fourth cameras are for macro and depth, respectively. The main camera is capable of 4K video recording at 30fps.

Powering the Nokia 8.3 5G is the Snapdragon 765G SoC with 6GB RAM for the 64GB model, and 8GB RAM for the 128GB variant. The smartphone also features a 3.5mm audio jack and a dedicated MicroSD card slot. The new mid-range 5G smartphone houses a 4500 mAh battery with fast charge capability. The device runs on pure Android 10 OS and will get updates under the Android One program.

On the other hand, we got the Nokia 3.4 that features a 6.39-inch display and with 1600 x 720 as the screen resolution and 400 nits of brightness. The display features an aspect ratio of 19:5:9 and also comes with punch-hole camera design, packing an 8MP selfie snapper. On its rear side, the Nokia 3.4 features a circular camera module with a total of four camera sensors.Nokia 3.4

The module comes with dual 13MP shooters, a 2MP depth sensor and a 5MP snapper for ultrawide photography. The smartphone packs a large 4000 mAh battery and the device comes bundled with a 5W charger. However, the smartphone does have support for 10W chargers. The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 460 chip with 3GB/4GB RAM for the 32GB/64GB models, along with support for MicroSD cards. You also get a 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio, dedicated Google Assistant button and support for aptX Adaptive wireless headphones.

We also have the entry-level Nokia 2.4 holds a larger 6.5-inch display with 720p+ as its screen resolution and with a screen aspect ratio of 20:9. It also features a bigger battery that is rated at 4500 mAh. However, it charges with a standard microUSB port at 5W. The smartphone runs with the octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 processor, along with a modest 2GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. While this is an entry-level smartphone, we think the 2GB RAM is a bit on the lower end. That said, there is a dedicated slot for MicroSD cards, along with dedicated dual SIM card slots.Nokia 2.4

It runs on Android 10 OS and is stated to receive the Android 11 update and another series of updates for the next two years. The Nokia 2.4 features a 13MP shooter and a 2MP depth sensor on its rear side, along with a 5MP selfie sensor on its front side. The front camera design features the tear-drop notch. The device also features a fingerprint scanner on its rear side. Other features include a 3.5mm audio jack and support for NFC.

Nokia also announced the Nokia Earbuds Lite that will be packed with 100% recyclable paper, driving the company to protect the environment from making an impact. The new earbuds offer 35hrs of audio playback and feature a comfortable design that is easy on the ears, along with an intuitive touch control functionality. The earbuds are IPX7 certified, which means the devices can be submerged up to 1m for half an hour. The earbuds feature 6mm graphene speaker drivers for stellar audio quality.

Nokia also officially introduced the Portable Wireless Speaker system that offers four hours of playtime. It packs an integrated microphone for group calls. You can also pair two of the speakers for better sound.  The speakers also feature Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. Nokia Portable

The Nokia 3.4 will be released in the UAE by the end of October and will cost 529 AED for the 64GB model. The device will come in Fjord, Dusk, and Charcoal colors. The Nokia 2.4 will be available in the UAE by the second week of October and will cost 419 AED and 469 AED for the 32GB and 64GB models, respectively. The Nokia 8.3 5G will release in the UAE by the middle of October, and will have a price tag of 2099 AED for the 128GB model. The smartphone will come in Polar Night color. The Nokia Power Earbuds Lite will also be available in UAE by mid-October for 399 AED, and will come in Charcoal, Fjord, and Snow colors.
