Acer announces budget-focused Nitro 5 gaming laptops, features Intel Tiger Lake H35 processors

While CES 2021 is still a few days away, Acer has decided to unveil some of its gaming laptops that are focused on the budget category. The new Nitro 5 series laptops feature 11th generation Intel chips codenamed Tiger Lake H35.

The new chips are said to offer better performance than the Tiger Lake-U chips that were released a few months back. Apart from the new processors, Acer also equipped the new laptops with the GTX 1650 GPU. While NVIDIA has better GPUs with ray-tracing support, Acer must have decided to go for the older Turing GPU to keep the prices low. The new Acer Nitro 5 (AN515-56-57YH) is the cheaper model of the two new laptops that were announced. The device packs the Intel i5-11300H processor, 8GB DDR4 RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 with 4GB GDDR6, and a 512GB NVMe SSD. The laptop also holds a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS ComfyView display. The laptop also features the Intel WiFi 6 AX 201 (2×2) and Bluetooth 5.0. The device also packs a 57 Wh battery. For online purposes, you also get an HD camera tagged with 2 microphones.

The second laptop that was announced is called Nitro 5 (AN515-56-72KT), featuring beefed-up specifications, and if you noticed the differences between the two model numbers, it’s easy to guess that this machine packs an Intel Core i7 processor under its hood. To be specific, it’s the Intel Core i7-11370H. This laptop also features a 512GB NVMe SSD. The model also features the same 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display but with a 144Hz faster refresh rate. You get the same Intel WiFi 6 AX 201 (2×2), Bluetooth 5.0, 57 Wh battery, the HD camera, 2 microphones, and also the same GeForce GTX 1650 GPU with 4GB GDDR6 memory.

The local prices and release dates are yet to be confirmed and we will let you know once the word is out. Stay tuned for more CES 2021 news.
