Among the latest announcements from the Cupertino company, Apple also updated its tablet lineup with the launch of the new iPad 10.2 and the newly redesigned Apple iPad mini 6.
The new 2021 Apple iPad 10.2 features the A13 Bionic processor that offers a 20% performance boost over the previous generation. However, the display size and the thickness of the bezels are the same as before. That said, the new tablet comes with the TrueTone feature. The tablet also has support for all accessories of the previous iPad 10.2, which also includes the older Apple Pencil.
Apple also upgraded the storage department and the tablet now starts from 64GB. While the rear camera is the same as the previous model, the front camera gets a big boost with the inclusion of a 120-degree 12MP ultrawide selfie image sensor.
While the entry-level iPad gets only an upgrade for a few things, Apple has introduced big changes with the launch of the new iPad mini 6. The newly overhauled design of the tablet with its curved corners and flat edges now matches with the new iPhones. The new iPad mini now comes with a bigger 8.3-inch display while keeping the same footprint as previous models. On the contrary, the older iPad mini models came with a 7.9-inch display.
With slimmer bezels in place, Apple has removed the home button and relocated the Touch ID atop the power button. Apple also included the TrueTone feature on the new iPad mini 6 and also comes with a peak brightness of 500 nits. The tablet now comes with stereo speakers in landscape view. The sides of the new device allow users to attach the second-generation Apple Pencil with magnets.
The latest Apple A15 Bionic chipset that powers the new iPad mini 6 delivers a 40 percent performance boost and about 80 percent jump in GPU performance. The tablet also comes with an upgraded 12MP image sensor with TrueTone flash and the front-facing camera setup gets another 12MP shooter along with the ultrawide lens. Apple has finally replaced the Lightning port with the widely used USB-C port. The tablet also comes with support for 5G connectivity.
The new iPad 10.2 will come with a starting price of 1399 AED and comes in 64GB and 256GB capacities (WiFi and Cellular models). Colors include Space Gray and Silver. The new iPad mini 6 will come in Space Gray, Pink, Purple, and Starlight colors, also in 64GB and 256GB storage capacities (WiFi and Cellular models), and will be sold at a starting price of 2129 AED. The new tablets can be ordered from 24th September 2021.
