Design
When choosing a wireless earbud, one should keep an eye on the design of the earbuds for their long-term wearing comfort. Sennheiser mentions that the new Accentum true wireless earbuds feature an award-winning ergonomic design, thanks to their real-life in-ear research.
The earbuds are comfortable and feel cozy to wear for longer audio sessions. You can also choose between four different ear tip sizes that suit your ear.
Each of the earbuds weighs only 5.5g and are IP54 certified for splash resistance. The earbuds come in black, white, and blue colors, and as you can see, we received the black version for review. The charging case alone weighs 41g, and when combined with the earbuds, the total weight is 52g.
There is the Sennheiser engraving on both the outer shell of the earbuds and the charging case. The USB-C port is located on the front side of the charging case, along with the status LED. Do keep in mind that the charging case does not feature the same IP54 certification as the earbuds.
Features
The new Sennheiser Accentum true wireless earbuds feature top-of-the-line hybrid active noise cancellation (ANC) functionality that cancels outside noise effectively for an immersive listening experience. Users will also be able to choose different modes of ANC, such as the Anti-Wind mode during windy situations or the Transparency Mode, when they would like to hear the surroundings. While using the earbuds, the ANC blocked out most of the outside noise for an impressive and distraction-free music experience.
With the Smart Control application, you will also be able to customize the music experience with different customizable EQ settings, along with bass boost functionality. The earbuds also feature a capability called Smart Pause, where the music playback pauses automatically when one of the earbuds is removed from your ear.
Each of the earbuds houses a TrueResponse dynamic 7mm driver, featuring a speaker frequency from 5Hz to 21KHz, and the sensitivity of the drivers is 107 dB SPL. This ensures that the earbuds are able to cover almost every tone of the music tracks. Each of the earbuds also comes with two mics with beamforming for noise reduction during calls. The frequency of the mics is from 100Hz to 10KHz.
When it comes to connectivity, the Sennheiser Accentum uses Bluetooth 5.3 for a seamless wireless audio experience, and the supported codecs are SBC, AAC, aptX, and LC3. As for the battery life, each of the earbuds houses a 55 mAh battery, along with the charging case that sports its own 420 mAh battery. Sennheiser mentions that the earbuds are capable of running up to 8 hours with ANC off, and up to 6 hours with ANC turned on. Combining with the charging case, you will be able to get a total playtime of up to 28 hours. While charging the devices to their full capacity can take up to 1.5 hours, you can get one hour of playtime with just 10 minutes of charge.
