Acer recently unveiled its Aspire series laptops with Copilot+PC AI features. We got a chance to try the new Acer Aspire 14 AI, and here are our thoughts about the new lightweight laptop.
Design
The design of the latest Aspire 14 AI is similar to last year’s offering. The device features a 14-inch IPS display, featuring a screen resolution of 1920 x 1200. The refresh rate of the display is limited to 60Hz, which should be okay for normal usage, and the aspect ratio is 16:10. The laptop weighs around 1.4 kg, and the chassis comes in an iron color.
The device comes with several connectivity options. The left side comes with two USB 4 (USB-C) ports, one full-sized HDMI port, and one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port. There is another USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port on the right side, along with a headphone jack and an indicator for battery status.
Users will be able to push the display lid up to 180 degrees in position, and the vents of the device are located on the rear side of the device. Acer also placed extra air vents on the bottom panel for extra cooling performance.
The laptop comes with a backlit keyboard, and the backlighting is white in color. The CapsLock and the Mic button have their own LED indicators, and there is also a dedicated key for AcerSense. The touchpad is wide enough for scrolling through web pages.
The keyboard is good to type on and offers good tactile feedback. The rear side of the lid also comes in iron color, and there is the Acer logo on the top right side.
Performance
The laptop comes powered by the Intel Ultra 7 256V SoC, featuring a total of 8 computing cores, and the maximum Turbo Boost frequency is 4.8 GHz. The chip is supported with 12MB cache, and the system memory is 16GB LPDDR5 RAM. The integrated iGPU is the Intel Arc 140V GPU that features a maximum clock speed of 1.95 GHz.
The iGPU consists of eight Xe cores. The laptop houses a 1TB WD SN5000S PCIe 4.0 SSD with Windows 11 Home OS installed. Performance of the laptop is good for office workloads and web surfing, and we did not notice any lags while using the device. We ran several benchmark tools, such as PC Mark 10, 3DMark Firestrike, CrystalDiskMark, and more. Check out the scores below.

Other features of the laptop includes Intel WiFi 6E AX211 and Bluetooth 5.3 wireless connectivity. The laptop comes with a 65 Wh Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) battery that should last for a day of use, depending on the applications used.
Verdict
If you are on the lookout for a new lightweight laptop, then try the new Acer Aspire 14 AI. The device comes with a 14-inch IPS display, along with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1200, and the aspect ratio is 16:10. The screen also has a matte coating. The device weighs about 1.4 kg, and there are several connectivity options, which include an HDMI port, USB-C ports, and USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports.
The laptop is powered by the Intel Ultra 7 256V SoC with Intel ARC iGPU. The system runs on Windows 11 Home Edition, installed on a 1TB WD PCIe 4.0 SSD and supported with 16GB LPDDR5 RAM. The laptop also houses a 65 Wh Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) battery that can handle tasks for almost a day of use.
