Luxury lifestyle accessories company, Tonino Lamborghini, recently launched its three new pairs of earbuds that make up the Quantum range. While all the three models use premium quality materials and feature the classic ‘Raging Bull’ logo that has made Lamborghini famous, it isn’t quite the same Lamborghini.
Tonino Lamborghini is the son of Ferrucio Lamborghini, the guy behind ‘Automobil Lamborghini’, and the company you know as the one that makes insanely premium cars. Tonino Lamborghini sent us the Quantum HL-01-B earbuds for review – the company’s most premium model in its Quantum lineup.
Looks and design-wise, the Quantum HL-01-B is truly amazing. Each earbud is made up of a sculpted mesh of flat faces at extreme angles. The design is precise ad strikes a nice contrast between the predominantly gunmetal grey bodywork and the accents of red.
You also see the famous “raging bull” insignia included on the earbuds, thus giving them an uber-premium status. The HL-01-B uses two speaker drivers to cover a wider frequency range than the rest of earbuds on the Quantum range.
The product has been specifically designed for iOS devices such as the iPhone, iPad and the iPod Touch. The three-button inline microphone includes the top and bottom buttons that handle volume. The center button meanwhile can pause or play music, skip tracks, fast forward and rewind, take and end calls, and even wake up Siri.
The HL-01-B uses Thin Film Acoustic Technology (TFAT), a proprietary technology which apparently allows for “high-resolution sound tuning” to squeeze extra performance from small in-ear speaker drivers. The earbuds also comes with a metal clip that allows you to keep the cable pinned to your clothes.
In addition, the earbuds also accompany a hard shell carry case and several sizes of silicone and foam eartips to get the best fit for your ears. The device is made up of plastic, though we would have loved if Tonino Lamborghini had used aluminium to make the earbuds. The 3.5mm jack of the earbuds are gold plated.
Performance-wise, the Quantu HL-01-B earbuds deliver truly amazing audio experience. The highs were clear, the bass was impressive and the mids were rich no matter what musical track we listened to. Call quality was also quite good, though the earbuds truly work well with iOS devices.
The earbuds also worked with Android devices, but the functionality of the inline controls were limited. On Android devices, we were only able to pause or play tracks with the inline controls. Sadly, we were not able to skip, fast forward or rewind any of the music tracks. The volume controls also did not respond on Android devices – so please bear all of this in mind if you plan to purchase the Quantum HL-01-B earbuds.
The Tonino Lamborghini Quantum HL-01-B earbuds are truly premium range earbuds. Some might be put off by the huge price tag, but as it is with any premium product, it is not always for everyone. The Quantum HL-01-B looks and feels great, though iPhone users will feel the benefits more than Android users. Based on our real world tests, the Tonino Lamborghini Quantum HL-01-B earphones are highly recommended.
