Review: Kenneth Cole Connected

In this era of innovation, smartwatches are yet another example of unique technological advancements. The perfect smartphone is one featuring the right blend of style and functionality. The Kenneth Cole Connect is far from perfect. However, there is good in the device, but the bad overshadows it.

The Kenneth Cole Connect features a silicon strap along with a saffiano leather insert. The dial size is quite big and the face of the watch is enclosed in a rose gold body. The lack of a touchscreen is compensated by four physical buttons that can be used to operate the functions of the watch.

The adjustable silicon strap looks trendy enough to hide its poor build quality. The display in the middle shows the time and notifications popping on the connected smartphone. Setting up the Kenneth Cole Connect is quite easy. One simply needs to download the app on iOs/Android and establish a connection with the watch via Bluetooth.

The detection is pretty quick and customizations can be made via the app. Once connected, the watch receives all notifications from the smartphone. In terms of design, the Kenneth Cole Connect does not look bad at all, but it isn’t impressive either.

The lack of useful features is what makes Kenneth Cole Connect a big disappointment. It simply does not serve the purpose of a smartwatch. The notifications displayed on the watch face offer no information of significance. If you receive a mail, you can just view the sender’s name.

In order to actually view the mail, you’ll need to access your smartphone. You can configure notifications for other apps also, but that won’t be of any use, as you’ll be forced to take out your phone to completely view what the notifications are about. Also, the device is incapable of dismissing notifications on the connected smartphone.

The worst case scenario is experienced with iOs devices. A bunch of manual settings and configurations need to be adjusted even for granting the device access to your phone’s Mail. The watch can display the name/caller id in case of incoming voice calls. It can also be used to control the connected device’s camera.

Any kind of fitness tracker is also not present to save the Kenneth Cole Connect. However, the features offered are not really useful ones. The Kenneth Cole Connect is a device that shows time and tells you when to take out your smartphone.

It also allows you to locate it if it’s misplaced, but even that works for a certain range only. The best thing about the Kenneth Cole Connect is that it can display the time. Other than that, it’s pretty much worthless.

If you just want to own a smartwatch that looks trendy and tells you when to reach out for your smartphone, the Kenneth Cole Connect is the right choice for you. Basically, it’s just a digital watch that can connect to your smartphone. If you expect some useful features, pick any other smartwatch.

There are a ton of good options in the market. The Kenneth Cole Connect displays time in a very stylish manner, but other than that, it does nothing!
