Review: Skullcandy Grind Wireless

If there’s a headphone brand that has really stepped up its game, it is Skullcandy. Gone are the days when products manufactured by Skullcandy were considered to be cheap. Now, especially after the success of the highly affordable and incredibly performing Skullcandy Grind wired headphones, the brand has proved that it has a lot of tricks up its sleeve.

The launch of Skullcandy Grind wireless headphones is a sign that the company is treading the right path. The wireless version of Grind headphones offers the same level of quality the wired version boasted, and that too, without an unjust price tag. With 6 different colours to choose from and sound quality better than most headphones in the price range, the Skullcandy Grind wireless headphones are a very strong contender in the market.

When there are 6 different colour options to choose from, the desig can be easily catered to your individual preference. However, the basic aesthetics of the Skullcandy Grind wireless headphones are quite similar to the wired version. The design is extremely simple, but the visual appeal showcased is classy. Beneath the bridge of your chosen colour, the headphones feature a covering of black foam.

The stitched mesh layer that hold the foam in place and feather soft ear buds make up an extremely comfortable pair of headphones. The Grind wireless has a set of three buttons namely the two volume controls and one main function/power button. Different combinations of the buttons can be used to access different functions via the headphones.

A 3.5mm audio jack is also available for times when establishing a wired connection to the device seems okay to you. The Skullcandy Grind wireless are one of the most comfortable headphones manufactured by the brand.

The Skullcandy Grind wireless headphones can be described by one word, and that word is impressive. Given the fact that this pair of headphones delivers sound quality that is comparable to the ones almost twice its price, it would be unfair not to applaud Skullcandy.

From bass to treble, the Skullcandy Grind wireless can handle it all, and that too, in a stunning manner. The sound quality delivered for each and every genre will leave you surprised. It is obvious that this pair of headphones doesn’t surpass the performance level showcased by premium headphones manufactured by Sennheiser or Beats, but the sound quality is comparable.

Somehow, Skullcandy has managed to offer almost premium sound quality at such an affordable price. The Grind wireless has its shortcomings as well. Unlike what’s been advertised, the battery fails to hold up for 12 hours on a single charge. Also, no carrying case has been provided for the accessories, but that’s a sacrifice worth making when the sound quality is superb. On the performance front, the Skullcandy Grind wireless headphones don’t just live up to the expectations, they surpass them.

Though the Skullcandy Grind wireless headphones are extremely impressive, they are definitely not perfect. When compared to the big players like Bose, Beats or Sennheiser, this pair of headphones will prove to be slight inferior. But, the price at which these are offered is also lower when compared to the big boys.

In a nutshell, if you can shell out a lot of bucks and are looking for nothing except perfection, the Skullcandy Grind wireless headphones are not for you. But, if you want headphones that deliver not perfect, but great sound quality at an affordable price, don’t think twice before buying the Skullcandy Grind wireless headphones.
