What to Expect at Huawei’s Big Event on 3rd November 2016

Huawei’s next flagship – presumably, the Mate 9 – will be revealed on November 3, 2016. The flagship will make its debut in Munich, Germany. Review Central will be present at the launch event and we will bring minute by minute updates from the launch ceremony. According to news reports floating around, specs of the flagship were leaked onto the internet a couple of days ago.

The leak confirms 6GB RAM for 256GB internal storage models. The flagship smartphone is expected to carry Huawei’s new HiSilicon Kirin 960 SoC octa-core processor along with a Mali-G71 MP8 GPU. With this latest leak, it seems RAM is now 6GB from the initial 4GB for the 256GB models. Other rumoured specs of the “Huawei Mate 9” is that it will be available in three variants – 4GB of RAM coupled with either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage, and a top-of-the-line unit with 6GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage.

Many news outlets have also reported that the “Huawei Mate 9” will sport a 5.9-inch QHD screen with a resolution of 1440 X 2560 pixels. According to another news source, the “Huawei Mate 9” is expected to tag along a big brother – a high-end model “Huawei Mate 9 Pro” – that will feature a curved screen. High-end models of the “Mate 9” and “Mate 9 Pro” are expected to run on Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box, along with Huawei’s EMUI 5.0 on top of it.

It is also rumoured that the “Huawei Mate 9” will come with a 20-megapixel Leica dual camera setup with 4X Zoom with optical image support (OIS). In terms of the front camera, some claim it will be 8-megapixels, while others claim it will be 12-megapixels.
