Heelight: A Bulb That Can Be Controlled Through Digital Sound

Heelight is a digital sound controlled bulb. According to the maker of the smart bulb, the device needs neither internet nor Bluetooth, because it can understand digital sound command’s instruction. There are 30 different modes in Heelight that can variably be used remotely through your mobile phone according to your preferences.

Among them are Night Light mode, Candle mode, Music, Rock mode, and Christmas mode. Users need to fire-up the app and adjust Heelight to nightlight mode before they go to bed. Doing that lets the Heelight dim slowly. What if you get up in the middle of the night and need some light to move around? Well, Heelight will smartly recognise your movement through a sound emitted by your phone during the night and brighten again.

In the Candle mode, you can use the Heelight as a candle by “extinguishing” the light, by merely blowing over it for 1 to 1.5 seconds. The light then turns on again after three to four seconds. In the Rhythm mode, the light will change colour when it catches variation of rhythm in the music being played. The brightness will also change when the volume of the music changes. The company will be launching a KickStarter crowd-funding campaign on 5th September 2017.
