E88 Market’ Food and Shopping Festival in Sharjah

Talented chefs cooked multiple cuisine and dishes at over 20 food exhibitors and mobile outdoor restaurants. Diverse cultures of families and friends mingled, shopped, and savoured the scrumptious dishes at ‘E88 Market’ Food and Shopping Festival.

The inaugural edition of the 12-day family-friendly is hosted by the Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre (JRCC), the largest all-purpose hall in Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, which saw multitude of visitors.

The first-of-its-kind event offer shopaholics a variety of accessories, fashion, jewellery, arts and handcrafts which are showcased by emerging creative entrepreneurs. Shoppers will also be able to explore leading brands of 15 entrepreneurs and start-ups.

The festival saw a foot-fall of visitors who enjoyed and engaged in the inclusive range of entertainment shows, fun-filled activities, and interactive competitions outdoors, this weekend.

The organisers for the event, JRCC’s CEO, Hanan Al Mahmoud, said: “The remarkable foot-fall of visitors to the event during the first days indicates that it meets the needs of families and individuals, who are eager to experience fun-filled activities outdoors. The festival is aimed at providing the participants and visitors alike with the opportunity to meet, network and enjoy food, shopping and entertainment activities.”

She added: “We also seek to offer a platform to entrepreneurs and start-ups, and enable them to share their knowledge, products and experience with visitors. Keeping in line with our firm belief that these projects are instrumental in supporting economic and social development, as well as furthering financial and social stability among many young people and families in the Emirate of Sharjah and the broader UAE.”

The ‘E88 Market’ Food and Shopping Festival hosts three Emirati folklore shows on December 2, 2018 in conjunction with the UAE National Day. The event hosts 14 film screenings, in collaboration with the Sharjah International Children Film Festival (SICFF), including a selection of the latest films that were screened at SICFF’s sixth edition. The event will also organise 24 sets of live entertainment shows at the outdoor theatre, comprising live music, in addition to four competitions.
