Acer officially launches the new Swift 5, Chromebook Spin 713 and Spin 311

Acer has officially announced its new range of laptops called the Acer Swift 5, the Acer Chromebook Spin 713, and the Acer Spin 311. The laptops are said to offer great performance in a slim package.

The new Acer Swift 5 is the latest iteration of its series, weighing just 1kg and is only 14.95mm thick. The touchscreen is 14-inches in size and features an IPS panel with Full HD resolution. The brightness of the screen is rated to hit 300 nits with support for 72% NTSC color gamut. The display also comes with a 90% screen-to-body ratio, which means the display has very thin bezels.


The new Swift 5 is powered by the latest generation Intel processors with integrated graphics that are based on Intel’s new Xe architecture. The laptops will also come with storage options up to 1TB of super-fast PCIe SSD storage. Furthermore, the laptops also feature the NVIDIA GeForce MX350 graphics. Acer claims that the Swift 5 can be fast-charged to offer 4 hours of usage if the device gets 30 minutes of charge-time. The Swift 5 also packs the dual-band Intel WiFi 6 chip and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. The device also features USB-C port, Thunderbolt 4, and USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports. The laptop also includes a fingerprint scanner and support for Windows Hello facial recognition.


The new Acer Chromebook Spin 713 comes powered by the 10th generation Intel i7 processors and the device is verified by Intel’s Project Athena innovative program that lets business users to seamlessly take advantage of secure cloud technology while working from both in and out of office premises. Acer has equipped the Chromebook Spin 713 with a screen that features 3:2 aspect ratio, similar to the ones found on Microsoft Surface devices. This gives the user about 18% more workspace and views documents and spreadsheets and websites better without the need to scroll a lot. The convertible Chromebook Spin 713 features a metal chassis that gives a modern look as well as MIL-STD-810G military-grade durability. The laptop also features WiFi 6 and Corning Glass touchscreen, USB Type-C port, HDMI port, and a backlit keyboard.


The Acer Chromebook Spin 311 is designed to be small and light, aimed for classrooms and daily projects. The Spin 311 can provide battery life for about 16 hours of usage. The device features an 11-inch display and is just 1.05 kg. The Spin 311 is powered by an octa-core processor and comes with USB Type-C port, 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, and a 720p HDR webcam.
