Epson has set out its sustainability-focused vision for the future, which includes a commitment to reducing its carbon emissions in line with the 1.5℃ scenario by 2030, and commitment to become carbon negative and underground-resource free by 2050.
Introduced in observance of the World Environment Day, which is celebrated globally on 5 June every year, Epson announces its continuous support to the local community in the Middle East through the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG).
Epson 25 Renewed and Environmental Vision 2050
Epson recently announced Epson 25 Renewed, a new corporate vision to drive the company towards its goals of achieving sustainability and enriching communities. Epson’s revised Environmental Vision 2050 reinforces these goals, as the company seeks to become carbon negative and underground resource free by 2050 through a program of decarbonisation, closing resource loops, customer environmental impact mitigation and the development of innovative environmental technologies.
Epson RE100
Epson will join the RE100, a global collective of large and influential businesses committed to 100% renewable energy. Epson is fast progressing towards this goal, announcing earlier this year that all sites in the Nagano Prefecture would transition to 100% renewable electricity by April. This news follows the announcement made by Epson earlier this year that all of its worldwide group sites will meet their electricity needs from 100% renewable energy sources by 2023.
World Environment Day
In celebration of World Environment Day, Epson will be supporting the Emirates Environmental Group’s annual Emirates Recycling Awards as a silver sponsor and will be donating EcoTank L15150 printers to the winners of the campaign. Epson’s EcoTank printers consume significantly less energy than equivalent laser printers using its Heat-Free technology and come with ink bottles containing the equivalent ink of 79 ink cartridges, making it possible to maximise efficiency and productivity while reducing waste and environmental impact.
