Oppo has officially entered the tablet market with the introduction of its new Oppo Pad, the company’s first tablet to take on the likes of competition, such as Xiaomi.
The new Oppo Pad is basically an Android tablet with an 11-inch LTPS LCD display, featuring a screen resolution of 2560 × 1600. The display also offers a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth visuals during browsing and gaming, along with support for HDR10 content. The design of the tablet includes symmetrical bezels, where there is an 8MP front-facing camera that is located on the side bezel.
The tablet also features a premium build, along with a metal frame, and frosted glass on its rear side. The tablet weighs about 507g. Oppo also added some design elements on its rear side, and the rear camera packs a 13MP image sensor. The Oppo Pad also includes a quad-speaker system with support for Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res audio playback.
While the chip may not be the latest in the market, the Snapdragon 870 SoC that powers the Oppo Pad, packs quite a punch to offer great performance. The memory configurations include 6/8GB RAM and 128/256GB of storage. However, there is no means to expand the storage if you plan to add a MicroSD card. The tablet runs on Android 11 OS, with a treatment of the ColorOS for Pad user interface.
One of the best features of the Oppo Pad is its stylus, again with a simplistic name called the Oppo Pencil. The device offers 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity and you will be able to attach the Pencil magnetically with the tablet. The Pencil also comes with wireless charging and a full charge can fetch you up to 13 hours of usage. Speaking of which, the Oppo Pad houses a 8300 mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging.
The Oppo Pad will come in black, purple, and special silver-like Artist Edition colors. There is no word yet on the official availability and pricing of the Oppo Pad in the UAE.
