Intel to introduce the Arc series discrete graphics cards lineup for laptops

With NVIDIA and AMD as the only major players for discrete graphics cards, Intel now will be entering the competition with the launch of its Arc series GPUs by the end of the month.

The company now has a dedicated page for the Arc series GPU launch with the phrase “A new stage of the game”, along with the confirmation that the show will all be about its upcoming discrete GPUs for laptops. According to reports, Intel is expected to unveil the DG2-128EU based GPUs, which include the A350M and A370M chips. The new chips are said to make their way to ultra-thin laptops such as the Intel Alder Lake-P powered Acer Swift X laptops.

While the new laptop GPUs are said to deliver over twice the performance as current iGPUs, we still have yet to see the actual performance numbers. Intel will be focusing on announcing Arc GPUs for laptops. However, the company looks to announce the Intel Arc Alchemist Xe-HPG gaming GPUs for desktops, somewhere at the end of Q2 2022. Intel has also confirmed to be working on a roadmap of three generations of Arc GPUs, with an incremental jump in performance for each new series.

The new Arc launch event is scheduled for March 30th at 8 A.M. Pacific Time.
